What is the best stuff to provide a little lubrication to a nut slot. I have heard of "nut sauce", but is there something simple |

If the nut slots are cut correct they do not need lube! Use the correct size files or saws and pay attention to what's going on ! Every nut needs to be cut for the guitar it's on! You can use a #2 pencil for lube! Mike ![]() |

Guitar Grease. S.M. sells it works well and also works on open Bass tuners that get awnery/rusty. |

I've been using Nut Sauce for a while and I like it. As for cutting the slot right the first time, Hesh hit the point right on--if you can use the string as a file, imagine what that string is doing under tension. A good lubricant will mitigate the abrasion, and Nut Sauce fits the bill well. It's much superior to graphite, in my experience. |
